Title of program: The Art of Bonsai

Presenter:  Vincent Tanner from the Bonsai Society of Hartford

Vincent has been president of the Bonsai Society of Hartford since 2023 and has worked hard to spread the good word of bonsai far and wide.  He offers educational programs, hands-on experiences, and public exhibits.  I’m sure you’ve seen him at the CT Garden Show!  Club membership is open to the public and members enjoy access to workshops, lectures, sales and more.  Members also have the opportunity to display trees in various shows and exhibits.  The Bonsai Society of Hartford has installed public bonsai exhibits in many notable venues, some of recent being the Connecticut College Arboretum, the Hill Stead Museum, and the Wadsworth Atheneum.

Vincent has been President of the Bonsai Society of Hartford since 2023 and has worked hard to spread the good word of bonsai far and wide by offering educational programs to schools, libraries, and garden clubs.  His presentation, The Art of Bonsai, is an introductory lecture that goes over the history, horticulture and aesthetics of bonsai.  There will be a presentation, time for Q and A, and also many show and tell items like live bonsai specimens, kusamono, tools, soil, pots and more!
